Haiti, My Love, My Home
This short film tells the story of how the farming community of Boukan Chat, Haiti and a team of conservationists, humanitarians, and story- tellers have come together to protect the endangered Diablotin, commonly called the Black- capped Petrel seabird, near one of the only known nesting sites in Haiti. Presented in Kreyol with English subtitles and narrated by Haitian Conservationist and EPIC Haiti Country Coordinator, Anderson Jean, who says in the film “I realized that saving the Diablotin was the best way for me to protect the land and the people that I love.” The theme is the connections between people and nature while the spotlight is on the innovative and successful program coordinated by EPIC and implemented by the Boukan Chat community and numerous partners to promote sustainable farming, reforestation, and watershed education.
