The GCFI – Gulf and Caribbean Partnership for Publishing Peer-Reviewed Research

The Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI) has partnered with the Gulf and Caribbean Research (GCR) journal to publish peer-reviewed manuscripts by GCFI members in good standing based on a presentation given at an annual GCFI meeting.  Manuscripts accepted for publication will be published as Open Access at no cost to the GCFI member.  Additionally, GCFI members in good standing can also search and download all articles published in GCR from 1961 to present, including those behind the pay wall, for no fee as part of the partnership.  GCFI members will also have access to all back issues of the discontinued Northeast Gulf Science and Gulf of Mexico Science journals from 1977 – 2018 which are only available on the GCR website.

To search for back issues, or to submit a manuscript to GCR, go to https://aquila.usm.edu/gcr/. Click on “My Account” on the top of the page and follow the instructions to register with the journal website. Once registered, proceed to the journal homepage to search for articles or submit a manuscript.  Each time you visit the GCR website you will need to sign in to My Account to access the GCFI Partnership privileges.
